The project "GeneHome" becomes the future SMALTIS company

It was time to find a different name for their company, the name "GeneHome", being too restrictive in light of the future activities that Sophie and Cedric want to develop, and the names of the associated domains were already taken.

Some background:

During their doctoral studies, Sophie and Cedric became interested in a well-known hospital pathogen called Pseudomonas aeruginosa. This microorganism was isolated for the first time in 1882 by the French military pharmacist Carle Gessard, who baptised it the "blue pus bacillus" because of the colour of wounds from infected patients.

As a result, they became interested in different existing shades of blue, among them SMALT blue, the source of SMALTIS. The abbreviation IS stands for Innovations Scientifiques (Scientific Innovations).
